Jane Bean Folkes is an educational consultant with expertise in the Reader's and Writer's Workshop model and Word Study Program- Words Their Way. Jane has experience working with K-6 teachers and administrators as an independent consultant, and as a staff developer for the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project under the directorship of Lucy Calkins

Jane has worked with superintendents, administrators and teachers to develop and implement reading and writing curriculum aligned with the Teacher's College Model. She has extensive experience with providing both workshops and coaching visits designed to engage all levels of learners in elementary school.

Jane provides workshops and coaching on a variety of topics ranging from launching and maintaining strong reading and writing workshops, conferring and assessing readers and writers, reading and writing in the content areas, teaching the structure of text to support reading comprehension, implementing small group instruction in reading and writing, and Words Their Way, word study program.
