Molly Wood, a graduate of Cornell University and Teachers College Columbia University, taught for several years in the New York City Public School system where she mentored literacy specialists and participated in a variety of action research projects with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Her masterful teaching and students’ work are featured in the Units of Study for Teaching Reading: A Curriculum for the Reading Workshop, Grades 3-5, by Lucy Calkins, of which she is a key contributor and writer. She now consults full-time across Long Island, as well as nationally, helping teachers feel excited and empowered by reading and writing workshop teaching.
