Andrea Lowenkopf has taught literacy and
literary strategies in Africa, Massachusetts and New
York to middle, high school and graduate school
students. She has taught classes with labels such as
ESL, Gifted, and Struggling. Before becoming the Lead
Regional Instructional Specialist for Region Nine
(which encompasses two hundred schools from Chinatown
to the South Bronx) she was the Coordinator of
Literacy Staff Development for District Two, consulted
around the country and worked at the Teachers College
Writing Project. In all these roles Andrea supports
literacy work across the curriculum, K-12 and for
administrators.
