Nicole Pepper has been a teacher in Manhattan’s former District 2, for 7 years. She has taught grades 1-3. During her time as a teacher, Nicole hosted coaching groups from Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project and has been a lab site for visiting teachers and Staff Developers. Nicole has experience developing units of study for reading and writing workshops. Throughout Nicole’s tenure at PS 116 she worked with a variety of learners including English Language Learners and children with special needs. In addition to the extensive experience with Reading and Writing Workshops, Nicole has mentored new teachers in implementing all components of Balanced Literacy.
Nicole received both her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and Masters Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Rutgers University.
