Tina Gordon- Reading and Writing

Tina Gordon, Tina Gordon, Ed.D. is a retired New Jersey administrator with a doctorate from Rutgers University. She studied early literacy with Leslie Morrow and literacy across the curriculum with Robert Parker. Her mentor was Janet Emig, former president of the National Council of Teachers of English. Dr. Emig conducted the original research on writing process.
Prior to her public school experience, Dr. Gordon was a professional staff development consultant whose specialty was literacy. She chaired the committee that worked to develop the first draft of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards for Language Arts/Literacy in 2001.
Throughout her career, she has continued to present workshops, coach, and consult. Dr. Gordon has presented at NCTE, ASCD, New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey ASA Techspo, and many other state and national conferences.
She has been published in Education Week, The New York Times, The English Journal, NJEA Review, The Middle School Journal, and The Council Chronicle.
