Thomas Semko is currently the Director of STEAM in a New Jersey school district. He has been taking part in the transition towards NGSS and the development of interdisciplinary curriculum at the state, county and local levels. Tom holds a B.S in Technological Studies from The College of New Jersey and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Georgian Court University.
As a proponent of STEAM implementation, Tom has been working within many school communities to identify areas for growth in the development of science and engineering practices. He has helped teachers to grow in their ability to assess and improve upon their instruction as it relates to skill development. Tom is skilled in the implementation of educational technology in content areas and has helped districts to develop metrics to analyze the myriad tools that continue to enter the classroom
